Why we made a drawing board that glows

Every parent knows the 4pm stretch. Dinner needs starting, everyone is tired, and the easiest thing in the world is to hand over a tablet. It works, and then it works too well, and then there is a fight about giving it back.

GLOWie came out of looking for the middle option. Something with the same pull as a screen — colour, light, instant feedback — that puts a child on the making side of it rather than the watching side. No algorithm, no autoplay, no account. Just a board that lights up, a handful of pens, and whatever they feel like drawing.

What we care about

It has to be honest. We publish the real shipping window rather than the one that converts better. We list what is actually in the box. If a review is on this site, a real customer wrote it.

It has to be safe. This is a product for three-year-olds. Age grading, materials and safety documentation come before marketing copy, every time.

It has to last more than a week. Nothing to refill, nothing to run out of, nothing to throw away. Wipe it and start again.
